Why are we getting married in Canada Water!?! This area of London has a special meaning for us as it’s where we both met (we were neighbours living around the corner from each other for over 6 months before we knew each other even existed!)

Our venue is just around the corner from Hawker House - the 'Street Food warehouse' where we first met. Unfortunately, the place has now shut down, otherwise we would both tell you it’s a nice place to grab a drink and some halloumi fries / bao buns from!

Most of our early dates were in pubs along this part of the river, like the Mayflower. We can recommend these all for drinks if you’re staying in this area of London for a long weekend for our wedding. One of the old pubs is even right next door to the Hilton!

4 years later we got engaged nearby here too, in ‘romantic’ Bermondsey Beer Mile (only 2 pints into our brewery crawl!).

The walk from here along the river towards Tower Bridge is lovely, perhaps for the day after the wedding (it’s a nice walk along the south bank of the Thames and you can easily get to the Shard, Borough Market, Tower of London, Tate Modern, etc).
